English Club TV participated in the 7th annual “FESTIVAL OF THEMATIC TV CHANNELS”, “TITAN EYE AWARD”, organized by the Polish Chamber of Electronic Communication and was nominated in the category “Event of the Year”. English Club TV is the only TV channel in Poland dedicated to learning English. There are no age restrictions: kids as well as adults can watch many interesting programs and improve their English at the same time. All the programs are developed by experienced teachers and methodologists using various current techniques. Native speakers, who are the hosts of programs, make every program entertaining, interesting and full of numerous commonly used words and language constructions. The nomination was presented during a gala on 2nd October during the PIKE 2012 International Conference and Exhibition. It was received by Andrew Semchenko, the Managing Director of the English Club TV Channel. “Winning the nomination in the category ‘Event of the Year’ is a big success. I am very pleased that the jury appreciated the idea of the channel, which is aimed only at education; especially as the majority of TV channels available in Poland are focused only on entertainment. I had many meetings during the conference and I noticed with pleasure that CATV operators were interested in our offering. The Poland TV market is saturated, but I am sure that English Club TV will take its niche in the market. As I know from the latest report from the European Commission, only 33 % of people in Poland speak English well enough to have a simple conversation and 87 % think that English is important for the future of their children. I believe that English Club TV will help many people in Poland to improve their English and open new horizons in their lives,” said Andrew Semchenko, commenting on the nomination.
